I don't see the point of Station 2.0
Maybe I'm missing something, but I am disappointed by the new direction of Station. For me, having all my applications separate from the browser was exactly the point of Station! I use it for all my messaging/social network apps, so they could be nicely contained in a separate app which I can quit or ignore when I need to focus. Besides that, I don't really get the point of the extension, it seems just like a glorified history filter. Am I missing something?
I miss the sidebar
Any plan to bring back the sidebar? I was really handy when switching between accounts. One click, no keyboard press - simple and always close
Adding more browsers is why I went to Station
I already have what you are moving towards and it is what I went away from~ using multiple tabs to see my apps.
Station seems to be repackaged as a completely new product with very different solutions. The entire purpose of it originally was to combine multiple apps/pages into 1 convenient location. This rework will require identifying and marketing to an entirely new audience as this new version is completely different. Incredibly disappointing to see this and the leadership team should really consider the feedback. Maybe there's some user data we are unaware of that prefers where the new direction is headed but these changes are going to lose all customers like me.
Alternatives to Station
I share similar sentiments with everyone on the new direction. I'm not to keen on changing my workflow, so please chime in on alternatives: Franz Rambox Wavebox Stack 3.0 Basaas
A browser extension is a promising direction
Switching to an extension is painful in some ways because we lose things we had in station 1 but I stopped using station 1 because of all the performance issues etc. It was not sustainable. The current implementation of the extension still needs work of course but I think you can do really cool things. So, keep at it :)
Open Source Station 1.0
If you are throwing away Station 1. code, please Open Source it so that we can keep using it in a self-hosted form and also make it better.
No worth Using
I don't see any purpose of using the app like this. If I am going to be in the browser and have to tab through a bunch of things to find what I need, i would be better off using bookmarks in my browser. What I loved about station compared to other competitors is that it was a stand-alone app that I could keep open and seperate from my browser so I could quickly and easily find the page i frequent, like Asana and Google Drive. II will continue using the standalone app as long as I am able, but I don't see any use for the Chrome extension.
I don't want an extension
Sorry but I don't want an extension, the old app was perfect and now I can't even find a legacy download for it to put on my MacBook. I understand that Station 1.0.5 is not longer support but can we at least access legacy downloads? Browser extensions when using safari does not make life easier.
