Station is slow / high memory usage / high CPU load

The issue I’m facing is …
Station is unbearable to use since this and maybe previous version due to high
CPU which causes high fan speeds on my Macbook Pro. I was using it a lot and
now I’m quitting and running it when needed. That sucks because I’m
unreachable for people that matter to me during work hours.
Here’s the detailed report

@Rion Martin: yes please! mine has been shutting itself down and re-opening mid-email etc. 10+ times a day and I'm unwilling to give it up! It also re-downloads the same documents every time it opens. I love it but having to re-open it 10+ times a day is getting tedious. Can't wait.

Hi @Julien Berthomier - I'm a Station user and stopped using it due to the cpu/memory issues. I'd love access to the beta so I can come back! Otherwise I'll have to go to something like Shift. Excited to check out the 2.0 beta.

@Federico: we have pivoted to a Chrome extension now and have decided to discontinue the desktop app (partly because of the performance issues you are referring to), did you receive the email I've sent out?

I've used Station almost since the beginning and CPU usage has never been great. I've had to stop using it completely about two months ago because running it for any length of time would cause the fans to spin up and stay running until I quit it. It would be great to get some kind of sign from the developers whether or not this is being worked on.

Had no problems before at all; but lately, encountering the same issues here and there. It causes the app to freeze, my laptop fan running a lot, or taking a loooong time to respond to a click I made in Station. Not sure what happened. Maybe because so many people are using it now? This is your moment to shine (almost everyone working remotely), Station; so hopefully this can be fixed soon.

Getting the same High Memory, High CPU issues. Additionally after extended periods of time the App just freezes and needs to be force quit (Mac OSX15)
Definitely a memory leak somewhere.

Same issue. 100% CPU usage. Makes station unusable 20 seconds after I start it. Freezes my entire KDE desktop except for my terminal. I have to uninstall and abandon.

Please, please do something about the High Memory and CPU usage. Overall, a great app...but won't last too long on my PC!

Severe loading issues after updating to 1.63.4.
My whole PC (Windows 10) slows right down and freezes the PC, nothing will open until I force close Station in Task Manager but that can take 5-10 mins to process in itself. Station is totally unresponsive and unusable at present.

@Jordan Newton: I was having the issue for the last few days, even after updating to the latest version of Station on Ubuntu 2019.10; the parent browserx process was taking up ~40% CPU consistently and causing my laptop to overheat. I have the same setup on another less powerful laptop with almost identical configuration, no CPU issues there.
I was able to fix by deleting my entire configuration and re-installing completely (https://community.getstation.com/t/how-to-uninstall-station/2915). CPU usage is now consistently under 10% when using the exact same apps.
